Gords
Alastair ‘Gords’ Gordon is Senior Lecturer in Media and Communications at Leicester De Montfort University, UK. His current research is based around genre authenticity and hierarchy across international networks of DIY punk with specific focus on Japan and Europe. He researches and teaches modules on media and communication studies, youth subcultures – specialising in recycling culture – and paranormal media. In 2012, Gords co-founded the Punk Scholars Network with Mike Dines. Gords used to record and tour internationally in such bands as Hard to Swallow, John Holmes, Geriatric Unit and Endless Grinning Skulls. He is author of numerous academic articles and book chapters. Most recently he authored Crass Reflections (2016) and co-edited The Punk Reader (2019). Gords hates Tories and neoliberals and is a tip-rat record collector in his spare time.
