David Álvarez García
David Álvarez García (Madrid, 1979) teaches Visual Storytelling and Pop Culture & Social Change at IE University. He holds a PhD in Journalism in Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Master in Digital Communication, Culture and Citizenship (URJC), Master in Multimedia Communication (UFV) and BA in Audiovisual Communication (UCM). His research interests are focused on cinema, subcultures, punk studies, popular culture and social activism. He was host of the show This is Radio Clash! on the free radio station Radio Carcoma, and a member of hardcore and punk bands including Gelocas and Rancho Santo. He has been working in the audiovisual field since 2003, in companies and networks such as TVE, Vocento, Sogecable, El Mundo TV, New Atlantis and Canal 9. David has been involved as filmmaker, editor and scriptwriter of documentaries, programs and TV series on humanitarian conflicts (Panorama de Actualidad), pop music (Fanclub, Los Angeles de 40, Del 40 al 1, 40 Pop), travel (Españoles en el Mundo, Valencians pel Món) and fashion (digital content for Yo Dona). He was the director of video clips for bands including Calibre Zero, Muletrain or Charades. He is also co-founder of Eleventh Floor, a production company in which he has directed videos for Oxfam-Intermon and the award-winning documentaries Dios salve al rock de estadio (2009) and Lo que hicimos fue secreto (2016).
