Paul Fields is a Senior Lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University. Paul’s teaching focuses predominantly on the sociology of music, and he is Programme Leader on the institution’s Leader on the institution’s MA Music Business, BA (Hons) Music Business, and BA (Hons) Songwriting degrees. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Alongside this, Paul is studying for a PhD at the University of Southampton. His PhD research looks into safe space policies at punk live events and considers the motivations of those who oppose them.

Paul has spent much of his time since the late 1990s playing in various punk bands, both full-time and part-time. At the moment he plays guitar and keys in the band borts. Paul can be reached on Twitter @rothkowoofed
