Maritxu Alonso is a social educator and philologist specializing in Spanish cinema and literature from the eighties. Her research has focused on the linguistic analysis of the lyrics of the punk band Desechables, zines and the punk activity carried out by womxn in the Spanish state. Since 2013 she has coordinated Uterzine, an initiative that makes non-normative punk identities visible. In Uterzine, which is also a DIY label, she self-publishes books and vinyls. She is the author of the book Mujeres Punks: Las Pioneras de Nuestra Escena (2019) which was illustrated by Helen Sotillo and the cut-out punk dolls of Ángela Saura, Pilar Bueno and Mavi Gómez (2020) illustrated by Ana Alouro. She also reissued the eighties zine Páginas Anarkillas (2020), from whose germ the Canarian band Chute de Esperma would later emerge, and together with the DIY labels El Lokal, DIY Konträatak and Dê o Fora, she co-published El Lenguaje de las Sombras (2020) by Amparo MGM, a book that proposes a change of form and perspective in a punk world where images capture the interest for words. Lately she has coordinated No Más Punkis Muertas (2021), a punk compilation of non-normative identities of the Spanish state on vinyl, and has also been at the forefront of the launch of Koñote Vil's Maketa Vil (2021).
